Pirata was founded by Eduardo and David who wanted to focus on the craft of designing and building digital gorgeousness. And to build the kind of production partner they were looking for when they were agency side.
Pirata is now a dozen incredibly passionate people including creative technologists, designers, motion graphics designers and of course some producers to keep us all in check.
Eduardo estudió diseño de producto y comenzó su carrera profesional en España before moving to London for the weather.
Joining Sega, Eduardo created digital campaigns supporting new games launches before moving on to Randommedia as Design Director and working across rich digital experiences for PlayStation, eBay, Sky and the BBC.
Joining Dare as a Creative Lead, and subsequently promoted to Associate Creative Director, Eduardo was responsible for both the Vodafone and Beck’s accounts. These led to Eduardo winning multiple awards, rebranding the entire Vodafone digital identity, creating a live online art + music event and helping the agency to earn three consecutive Agency of the Year awards.
David Boleas completed his studies in Art, Graphic Design and an MA in User Interface Design in Spain where he is originally from. He started his career in the video games industry as user interface designer and has had two titles published.
He moved to London in 2002 where he started working in Print and Web for various agencies including Me Company, Sega and for brands such as Shell, Pennzoil, Fox, Paramount, Mattel, The FA, American Express and MTV.
In 2005 he joined Green Cathedral as Senior Interactive Designer in their London office.
The following year in February 2006 he joined Dare Digital as Senior Creative Designer and in March 2007 he was appointed to a Creative Lead position, looking after the production on the Sony and Vodafone accounts, helping the agency generate new accounts and win Campaign and Marketing Agency of the Year in 2007. He’s also won several accolades from his peers, Silver Pencil at the One Show in 2008 and a Webby Award the same year.
Adrian studied sound and video engineering in Leeds before taking a job as a multimedia designer and “webmaster” at a technical company in East Yorkshire.
He moved to London in 2002 working as a freelance Flash designer until he joined Wheel (now LBi Group) at the start of 2003 where he later got promoted to Senior Designer. At Wheel he worked on wide range of digital campaigns and websites for clients including Starbucks, BT, Ikea, Paul Smith, Marks & Spencer and Brahma.
In 2005 Adrian moved to Dare as a Creative Lead, where during his tenure he was part of the pitch team that helped them win Vodafone as a client. He worked across a range of their clients including the BBC, Axe/Lynx, Wanadoo, Sony and Sony Ericsson and did some award-winning work for Barclays and Vodafone.
After leaving Dare in 2007 he returned to his technical roots as a freelance Flash developer before joining Pirata early in 2009.
